Derek Dean

Derek joined Exetor after a 20-year career with McKinsey & Company. He brings to Exetor his deep experience in helping senior business leaders and their teams address core business issues across a wide variety of industries. His functional experience spans strategy, mergers & acquisitions, operational and cost improvement, and organization transformation. His industry experience spans technology (semiconductors, software, hardware, and services), retail and consumer products, private equity, and gaming.

Prior to joining Exetor, Derek was the managing partner of McKinsey's San Francisco Office. He was elected a Partner in 1996 and a Director in 2003. In 1997 he started the semiconductor practice in the Bay Area and led McKinsey's Global Semiconductor Practice for 10 years. He also led several knowledge initiatives on leadership, chaired various personnel committees, and helped lead several of McKinsey's internal training programs ranging from junior consultants to partners.
